Founded in the 80s in Bergen op Zoom, Khasto is an Indian-Dutch family business. The company is known for their distinctive soft cotton bedding and nightwear, born from a history of intertwined traditions and referred to as 'cotton cashmere'.
This type of fabric, that consists of three layers of fine and breathable cotton (voile), was developed to perfection by Nepalese princess Damber Kumari, who was inspired by the Indian fabric tradition. The technique was then mainly used for shawls - 'Khasto' means 'scarf' in Nepali.
